How Does a Refrigerator Work

So, essentially, the HFC in the compressors of the refrigerator is continually compressed and let to expand. The HFC is a gas which becomes a liquid when its temperature is brought down to a minus -26 degrees Celsius. The function of the fridge begins when the gas is compressed. On compression, the HFC will become heated up. The gas will now pass through the coils and its heat is now doused and transferred to the external atmosphere. Under the pressure inside the coils in the refrigerators, the HFC gains a liquid form as it passes through the coils inside the refrigerator. Later, in the course of the journey of the HFC gas, it will be expanded and this expansion helps to release the ammonia content from the gas. This sets the real work into motion.

 

Once the HFC has completed doing the rounds in a pressurized format as a liquid, it will be allowed to make its way without the ammonia. Now, when it is allowed to expand, the liquid HFC will gain a gaseous form again. The HFC now has a cooler temperature. It will vaporize as the gas expands and the entire atmosphere in the refrigerator becomes really cool. This gas fills up the inside of the refrigerator. The external walls of the fridge are now hot as the coils pass through the walls and they contain the heat lost by the HFC under high pressure. On the other hand, the main areas inside the refrigerator are sufficiently cool to keep your food fresh for a long time. However, if the doors of the refrigerators are opened frequently, the gas will lose its coolness and the effect will be ruined completely.

 

This is how the entire cycle goes on. The cool gas is sucked back by the compressor machines. The HFC is again heated under high pressure and it will again pass through the coils. Again it would be cooled and let inside the fridge. However, the more advanced fridges and refrigerators also have other devices and complex mechanisms. One such mechanism is the thermometer. The thermometer will helps the individuals to control and regulate the temperatures inside the thermometer. The thermometer is in charge of keeping the cool HFC gas intact or letting it be compressed for some time before being cool again. So, the cycle of heating and cooling the refrigerant also depends a lot on the work of the thermometer.
