A microwave oven is a device that is used for cooking purposes. Microwave Oven can cook food much faster than the conventional oven which were used earlier. The food can also be re-heated in the microwave oven. The microwave oven is one of the great inventions of the 20th century. Millions of people use microwave ovens for cooking purposes. Using microwave technology, water and particles within the food are heated incredibly fast. This helps in turning cold or frozen food into steaming and hot meals. It is basically a magnetron which is linked to a high voltage source. This magnetron is helpful in directing the microwaves into a metal box. These generated microwaves bounce around inside the microwave until they are absorbed. This results in the molecules heating up.
Many ways in which a microwave is used are: in case if a person is late for work and is not having time to fix the breakfast at home then he or she goes for frozen food. Many frozen food products are baked by using a microwave only.
Microwave ovens are popular because they cook food in very short duration of time as hence helps in saving the precious time of the user. Microwave ovens are also extremely efficient in their use of electricity because a microwave oven heats only the food and nothing else.

These ovens uses a fan and a heating element to create air flow patterns inside the microwave oven. The Grill Microwave ovens can be used to cook food which is crispier from outside and juicer from inside.
Microwaves are simply a source of heat energy just like gas and electricity. All three produce cooking in the food itself. Food cooked in a microwave oven is not radioactive or contaminated and is therefore not harmful to eat. Microwave ovens heat from the outside-in which is very similar to other heating methods. The liquid inside will appear to heat up first. In frozen objects, the center might remain frozen and the outer layer somewhat cool while the layer just under the crust may be super-hot if the food is not kept for a sufficient time interval.
