What is Ballet

Ballet primarily originated in the Italian Renaissance period of the 15th century. The term ballet was taken from French and slowly was borrowed into English around 1630. Ballet is a typical form of performance dance that developed further in Russia and France. The term Ballet primarily refers to Renaissance dancers of Italian court. Men mainly performed ballet, as any form of dancing act performed by women was not looked upon as something graceful. Women also find it difficult to practice ballet dancing as well. The first and foremost ballets were mainly danced in Italy. Slowly, with the gradual passage of time, French forms of ballet were introduced for both men and women.
