The project manager is the person responsible for ensuring that the project team completes the projects. The project manager develops the project plan with the team and manages the team’s performance of project’s tasks. Information/technology Project manager is responsible for coordinating and integrating activities across multiple, functional lines. He has to negotiate with upper level management as well as functional management for control of company resources. One of the most important responsibilities of project manager is to ensure that all parties contributing to project have a clear and unambiguous understanding of project, its aim and purpose. Project manager has to manage human interrelationships in the project organizations. He has to develop and organize plan for the execution of project. He maintains balance between technical and managerial project functions. Project manager has to provide major timetable milestones. He has to ensure that functional unit will understand their total responsibility toward achieving project needs.
He has to assume that problems resulting from scheduling and allocation of critical resources are known before hand.
