What is Skin Cancer
In case of skin cancer condition, DNA becomes corrupted which cannot be repaired by the body? Later these cells grow at a rapid speed and divide themselves into many infectious cells which results in formation of a tumor, led to skin cancer. Since a tumor is easily visible, this makes skin cancer easily detectable in the early stages. There are three types of skin cancer exists. Each one of these occurs in the odd cells. Skin cancers are categorized into two different classes – melanoma and non-melanoma. Basal cell carcinoma cancer is very common cancer in the human body. Since this cancer begins in basal cell which produces skin cells, it is called as basal cell carcinoma. Basal cells are resides in the lower part of the outermost skin.
Cancer that begins in squamous cell, which helps in formation of surface of the skin, it is known as squamous cell carcinoma. This cancer may become deadly if left untreated. Cancer which forms in melanocyte, pigment cells, it is known as melanoma. This uncommon cancer however if it is not detected in the early stage then it may become fatal. Melanoma looks like a mole or it may occurs in a pre-existing mole so it very important to check with the mole whether it is a cancer or simply a mole. Squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are considered as “nonmelanoma”.
The main cause of the skin cancer is too much exposure to sun, because ultraviolet rays may damage DNA in the skin. It has been proven by research that an ultraviolet ray destroys DNA in the skin. The body generally repair such damages before cancer develops. Skin cancer can develop in anyone. However, report says that skin cancer develops in people who have light-coloured eye, fair skin and tend to burn in case of exposure to the sun. Skin cancer may also be heredity. Nowadays, skin cancer is very common in America. People in America do not protect their skin from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, results in skin cancer.
