Spirulina is blue green algae which is very rich in nutrients. It is 100% natural and is found in the fresh water bodies. Spirulina is a latin word and it means spiral. It is named as spirulina because it is spiral shaped. Spirulina contains vitamins and proteins which are not found in the vegetarian diet. Spirulina is hygienic or not cannot be confirmed. It can cause life threatening problems. People who are allergic to seafood should not take spirulina. People with fever and women who are pregnant and are breastfeeding their babies should not consume it as it can pass to their babies too. Spirulina is highly digestible, that is why after taking it, you will start feeling energetic in few minutes.
Both the pills and powder form of spirulina are equally effective. You can take it with water. It should be taken atleast an hour before having your meal. Try to take in the day time when you are feeling very low and you will start feeling full of energy just after few minutes of taking a tablet of spirulina. It may take some time to suit your taste. You can start with one tablespoon and one tablet of it and later on, you can increase the amount. It is a natural and safe. But still be careful before taking it.
